Using AWeber to Send Emails to Your List

If you’re looking for an email marketing tool to help you send marketing emails to your customers, then look no further! AWeber is a trusted email marketing platform that can help you grow your business with minimal effort. In this article, you’ll learn how to use AWeber to build and grow your email list, and how to send perfectly timed and segmented emails to your audience.

Setting Up AWeber

If you’ve ever used MailChimp before, then you know how frustrating it can be to set up a new email marketing tool due to how similar their UI is to other popular email marketing tools such as MailChimp. AWeber takes the guesswork out of setting up your email marketing list, and gives you a user-friendly experience from the get-go.

As soon as you launch AWeber, you’ll see the homepage with a banner offering you various ways to get started. From here, you can choose the type of email marketing you want to do (e.g., standalone newsletter, customer email list, or both), set up a payment method (i.e., PayPal, Stripe, or Bitcoin), and click through to the FAQ section for a list of frequently asked questions.

Getting Started With AWeber

After you launch AWeber, you’ll see a page with a form at the top asking you to enter your name, email address, and other information. Make sure you enter a valid email address here, as this will be the email address used to login to your account later on.

Below the form, you’ll see a gray area which is AWeber’s content area. You can put your website URL, social media accounts, or anything else you think might be relevant content-wise here. You can choose to make this area any color you want by clicking on the colored square to the right of the gray area to change the background color.

To set up a new list (i.e., a list of email addresses that you can send marketing emails to), click on the New List button in the upper right corner of the AWeber dashboard. You’ll be brought to a page which has all the essential information you need to create and grow your list.

Here, you can enter a name for your list (e.g., “Top Ten SEO Tips For Bloggers”), choose a template for your list (e.g., “SEO: The Most Effective Tips Ever Written In One Place”), and click on the Create List button to start creating your list.

On the next page, you’ll be asked to confirm your choice by clicking the Save button. You can then use this list as a basis for creating more targeted email campaigns in the future.

Sending Emails to Your List

Once you have your email list set up, you can start sending highly targeted and personalized emails to your customers and subscribers. To do this, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the AWeber dashboard to access the Settings section.

Here, you can choose the type of content you want to appear in your emails (i.e., you can choose what’s called the content schedule here), and set the frequency of the emails you want to send (i.e., how often you want to send emails to your list).

To make your emails more personalized, you can enter a name (e.g., “John Doe”) in the First Name field, and a last name (e.g., “Doe”) in the Last Name field. Remember, these are the names that will be used to identify your contacts in your email marketing campaigns. Don’t worry, you can change these fields to anything you want later on if you want to).

The email address for your list is also stored here, so be sure to enter a valid email address. Also, if you’re using a Gmail account to log into AWeber, then you need to enable two-factor authentication. Otherwise, everyone with your email address will be able to log into your account.

Segmenting Your Emails

If you’re new to email marketing and haven’t yet fully grasped the benefits of segmentation, then you might be wondering how to go about it. Segmentation is all about targeting the right person at the right time with the right content.

You can segment your contacts according to criteria you set up previously, such as geography, interests, behavior, age, and a lot more. To segment your contacts, you’ll need to go back into your email list and split the contacts into different groups. For example, if you have 1000 contacts and you want to target New York City, then you can create a new segment and send targeted emails to that segment.

To send personalized emails to your customers, you can either create a new segment for each type of email you want to send (i.e., for each blog post, podcast episode, or whatever else you want to send) or you can use the tool’s autoresponder feature. What the autoresponder feature does is it takes care of segmenting your emails for you. So for example, if you have 1000 contacts and you want to send out ten personalized emails per week to those contacts, then you can either create ten new segments or you can use the autoresponder feature to take care of the segmentation for you.

The great thing about this feature is you don’t need to do anything special to use it. Once you’ve activated the autoresponder inside Settings, all future emails you send out will be segmented and personalized for your contacts. Also, you can use this feature to send automated emails to your list when you have new content to share. For example, if you’re a blogger and you have a new blog post every week, then you can set up an email autoresponder that will send out a weekly newsletter recap of the previous week’s blog posts. This way, you’ll keep your contacts up-to-date on all the new content you publish and they’ll become more engaged with your brand.
