AWeber Lurn Summit: How to Get Your Team to Talk to Each Other

The AWeber Lurn Summit is currently taking place in Boston, MA. I was fortunate enough to attend the summit and capture some great moments and insights from the event. I would like to share some of these moments and insights with you here so that you can use and implement these ideas and methods into your business.

What is AWeber?

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, then you know full well that I’m a huge fan of AWeber.com. I use the platform to send out emails almost every day, and it provides a lot of great features and functions that I couldn’t live without. It also tracks open rates, clicks, and much more for each email that I send out, so I can see how effective my campaigns are really being. Additionally, AWeber provides me with a lot of inspiration and ideas for my own email marketing campaigns and strategies. With that, let’s dive into what makes AWeber so special.

Why Should You Care About Email Marketing?

Email marketing is a brilliant tool that allows you to communicate with your audience in a much more personal manner. If you’ve ever been on social media, you know that the platforms themselves can be highly personal and almost intimate. Of course, the opposite is also true; there are many big brands that do exactly what I described above and use social media to keep a certain distance from their audience because they know that too much familiarity can hurt their business. Email marketing doesn’t have that problem. If your goal is to grow a business that relies heavily on word of mouth advertising and personal branding, then email marketing is a great tool for you to grow and manage your brand.

Why Should You Care About The AWeber Lurn Summit?

In the history of the Internet, very few brands have been as impactful or influential as AWeber. The company was started by Richard Simmons back in the ’90s, and the name stands for an entirely different reason these days. In the past two decades, Simmons has become the face of AWeber, appearing in their commercials, giving interviews, and supporting their cause via his Twitter account (@gsimmons). Now, Simmons is passing the baton to the next generation of influencers.

Simmons is one of the featured speakers at the AWeber Lurn Summit. Throughout the two days, Simmons will be speaking with a wide range of industry experts about marketing, social media, and business growth. He will also be holding court at the Main Stage, speaking one-on-one with attendees, and taking part in an intimate Ask the Influencer session. I couldn’t think of a better person to bring email marketing to the next level.

Who Should Attend The Summit?

Anyone who is serious about doing business online should attend the AWeber Lurn Summit. It’s not only about marketing, it’s about running a business online. There are three main takeaways from the summit that I think every business and their dog owner should know and implement into their daily routine.

1. Create multiple personas.

If you’re reading this, then you’re probably wondering what a persona is and why it’s so important to your marketing efforts. A persona is a type of character that you create for the express purpose of interacting with your audience on social media or via email. Every business or brand has multiple personas, depending on their target audience, product message, and more. These are people that you’re communicating with online, so it’s essential that you develop and maintain a strong sense of who these people are, what they want, and what makes them tick. Without a strong sense of these three things, you’ll never be able to communicate with your audience effectively.

2. Identify and engage with your “tribe” on social media.

Social media is all about connecting with people who have common interests. This is why when you join different social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, you’re often presented with a variety of content that you have no interest in viewing. It’s like trying to watch TV that you never liked and never gotten around to watching, but now someone else has recommended it. You have no choice but to watch it because it’s on your screen.

The problem with this is that it takes time to get to know the people that you follow on social media. You may not always want to follow the same people on all three platforms because it takes time to develop and maintain a following on each one. In order to combat this, you can create and engage with multiple communities on social media. Each one will have different interests, and by participating in all of them, you’ll gain access to a much more engaged audience than you would had you only been on one platform.

3. Master the art of converting traffic into paying customers.

This is the golden nugget that every business owner, entrepreneur, and marketer wants to discover and implement into their everyday routine. The truth is that there are a lot of people who want to be able to buy your product or service, but few who know exactly how to find and communicate with the people who can and will buy your product or service.

Your job as a marketer is to bring in the dollars, and the better you do that, the better you’ll be regarded as a marketer. There are two ways to do this: via affiliate marketing or via direct sales. Affiliate marketing, as the name implies, is when you agree to promote a product or service in exchange for a commission. This can be anything from affiliate sales of small accessories to big-ticket items like web hosting or professional transcription services. There are a million different permutations of affiliate marketing, but the goal is the same: to get someone else to do the selling for you.

The second method of bringing in the dollars is direct sales. This is when you approach potential customers and introduce them to the wonders of your product or service. While you’re at it, you can probably convince them to buy something else from you as well. This can be anything from selling them a t-shirt or hoodie to accompanying them on a hiking trip or to an NBA game. Regardless of what you sell them, you’re trying to get them to think of you and your product or service when their needs arise. This is a much better approach to marketing, and the more you do it, the better you’ll get at it.

It’s important to note that not all forms of marketing are created equal. Some types of marketing, such as PR, can be extremely effective in getting your product or service in the right place at the right time. Once that happens, all the pieces start to come together, and you’re able to build a solid foundation for your business.

As a marketer, you have a choice to make. Do you want to build a brand? Do you want to create a culture around your product or service? Do you want to engage with your audience and bring them along for the ride? Make a decision, and then take action. Don’t worry about what other people are doing. You can always find something to learn from their successes and mistakes, but in the end, it’s up to you to make your business a success. Good luck out there.
