How to Create Amazing Responsive Email Templates for AWeber

AWeber is the #1 email marketing platform. With over 1 million active users, it’s the perfect choice if you’re looking to create and manage email campaigns on the go.

Their drag-and-drop email builder is quite the handy tool if you want to create and send bulk email campaigns in no time.

But sometimes you may want to create a one-off email for a specific campaign or customer and don’t want to build it up from scratch. That’s why most email marketing platforms allow you to create amazing, responsive HTML emails which automatically adapt to any size screen.

In this article, we’ll show you how to easily create amazing responsive email templates for AWeber.

Step 1: Log in to your AWeber account

Before you start, you’ll need to log in to your AWeber account. If you haven’t already, you can get to where you need to be by clicking the logo at the top of this article.

You’ll need to fill in your email address and password to log in.

Once you’re logged in, you’ll see the dashboard. From here, you can Create an email template or Update an existing email template.

Step 2: Create a new email template

To create a new email template, click the Create button at the top of the page. You’ll then see a form where you can enter the template details. Enter a subject for the email, select a style, and choose a recipient for the email.

The subject will go in the header of the email, the style will determine how the email displays on a mobile or desktop device, and the recipient(s) will be the people to receive the email.

Depending on how you enter the details, you’ll see different tabs along the top of the form. These help you find the right content and format for your email.

Step 3: Test the email template

When you’ve entered all the details, click the Preview button to see how the email looks. You’ll then get a preview of the email along with information about the recipients’ browser information and statistics about how many people opened and clicked the email.

You can adjust the template details from here before you click the Send test email button. You can decide whether to send it to a list of recipients or just to yourself (it will also go out to your subscribers if you have any).

Step 4: Set the email routing

When you’ve tested the email and it looks good, set how you want it to be routed using the Routing tab. You have the option of sending it to an individual email address or list of addresses.

Sending it to a list is a great way to get a huge number of people to see your email. Just make sure you’ve got a mailing list set up on your AWeber account.

You can also use the Marketing > Segments page to set how you want the email to be segmented. As a beginner, you can use the default options or you can choose Custom, setting the criteria based on how you want to segment the list. For example, you can target users who bought a specific product or are already on your mailing list.

Step 5: Save the email template

When you’re happy with how the email template looks, click the Save button at the top of the page. You’ll then get a popup where you can rename the template if you’d like. Otherwise, it will be saved using the default name.

Step 6: Browse through your email list

You can now Browse through your email list using the button in the top-right corner of the page. This will display all of your saved emails in a column of lists. Just click the Send button next to a list to have that one sent out.

You can also click the View button next to a list to see the email template for that list.

Step 7: Adjust the style and formatting for your chosen device

This final step is optional but it’s super useful if you want to make sure that the email looks exactly how you want it to on any device. Simply go to the Preview tab and adjust the style and formatting for your chosen device.

On a desktop, you can choose between Mobile or Tall design. The Mobile option makes the email look the same on every device, while the Tall option makes it look like it was designed for a larger screen. Once you’ve made the changes you want, click the Preview button to see how it looks on your device.

If you’re happy with the way your email looks on desktop, click the Tall design, and it will be saved for use on larger screens. If you’re not, go back and choose Mobile to see how it looks on other devices.

Now you can click the Send test email button to send it to a list of recipients or just to yourself (it will also go out to your subscribers if you have any).

Congratulations!

You’ve now created an amazing email template for AWeber. When you’re sending your next email campaign, just replace the words Dear with Hello, add a few lines, and you’ll be good to go.
