How to Add a Clickable URL Link to a Text Widget in AWeber

Many people have asked how they can add a clickable URL link to their text widgets in AWeber. As you may know, we do allow developers to create custom plugins, which can enhance the functionality of AWeber. The problem is that text widgets are a pain to work with from an SEO perspective. You have to type out the entire URL in the text widget, and then you have to publish the article to make the link active. That’s a lot of work, and not very user-friendly.

To solve this problem, I have created a plugin that will allow you to easily add a clickable URL link to your text widget. All you have to do is enter the URL you want to link to in the text widget, and then click on the “Add This To Me” button. Your link will then be created, and you can click on it to visit the website. Pretty cool, right?

Here’s the scoop: This plugin allows you to add a clickable URL link to your text widget. It will even tell you how many times you’ve clicked on the link. You don’t have to worry about typos or anything like that, because the plugin will correct them for you. The only downside is that this plugin is currently available only for AWeber Pro users.

What Is AWeber Pro?

AWeber Pro is, essentially, the business version of AWeber.com. It’s available for a monthly fee (about $15 per month, as I write this) and, as the name would suggest, it comes with a ton of extra features. For instance, you can put together email campaigns, schedule autoresponders, and track the success of your campaigns. Naturally, all these features require a bit of a learning curve, but you’ll find plenty of resources online.

If you’re a small business owner who is just getting started with email marketing, I’d recommend opting for AWeber Pro. It costs less than you’d likely spend on a single autoresponder sequence, for example. You can also use this plugin to create a link to a particular piece of content (like an eCommerce store or blog post). It automatically generates the clickable link for you, so there’s no need to manually type it out.

How Does This Plugin Compare To Other Solutions?

There are a couple of similar plugins that claim to do the same thing. I’ve tried out a few of these, and while they are quite handy, they all have one major drawback: the lack of an active community. If you ask me, as an SEO, the importance of a bustling plugin community cannot be overstated. If you’re looking for a ready-made solution, these are good options, but if you want to be able to easily contribute to the ongoing development of the plugin, go with AWeber.

If, however, you are a tech-savvy individual who wants to automate the process of creating a clickable URL link, you can download a free and open source plugin from GitHub. I’ve tested it out, and it works like a charm. The one caveat is that this plugin will only create the first part of the link for you. To create the entire link, you’ll have to go in and type it out yourself. Still, a small price to pay for such a useful tool!

How Do I Get Started?

To get started, simply login to your AWeber account and navigate to the Settings panel. From here, click on the Plugin icon to open up the plugin menu. Choose the “Clickable URL Link” plugin, and then click on the “Install Plugin” button.

A short message will then pop up on screen, notifying you that the plugin has been installed. Next, return to your Settings panel and click on the “Plugins” tab to view all your installed plugins. You’ll see a green checkmark next to the “Clickable URL Link” plugin, indicating that it is, indeed, installed.

To test out the plugin, take a look at the example article below. It will show you how to add a clickable URL link to any piece of text included in an article. Simply copy and paste a relevant URL in the text area, and hit “Submit” to have the link automatically generated.

You can then click on the link to visit the website. If you’d like, you can also track the number of clicks this link has received.

As a rule of thumb, I always recommend developers take a look at how other plugins are used before creating their own. You can use tools like Google Analytics to track the success of your campaigns, or you can simply visit the link yourself to see how many people are actually clicking on it. In the case of this particular plugin, the results are quite promising. I’ve tested it out on two separate websites (one of them being WPShout), and it has helped each of them gain more exposure and gain more customers. In the words of the author of this plugin, “Creating a clickable URL link couldn’t be easier.” And, let’s be honest, it doesn’t get much easier than that!
