Many of you may know that I collect vintage and antique typewriters. I’ve been doing this for a while and it’s been a great hobby and source of income. I’ve also been collecting old telephone directories, which are quite valuable. I got a hold of an old yellow telephone directory from the 1950s and decided to see if I could make a few bucks from it. I listed all the businesses and people in the directories in an Excel spreadsheet and after a while decided to sell it. I ended up selling it for $16,000.
Well, needless to say, not all my business came from that source but it was a good start. I decided to try and sell more vintage and antique typewriters and telephone directories and got very good at finding older editions of telephone directories (usually from the 1960s). Around that time, I found out about affiliate marketing and decided to teach myself the ropes. I spent about a year and amassed a portfolio of about 10 websites that I ultimately sold for a 6-figure sum. That was about 4 years ago and I’ve been building my site ever since.

Cut The Cord
The first step to getting rid of Aweber is to cut the cord. I don’t mean download your subscription and throw it away, I mean cancel it completely. It’s important to note that you can’t just turn off your subscription once you’ve started it, but you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to unsubscribe once you know how. Believe it or not, Aweber provides tons of valuable information on how to do just that.

Change Your Email Address
Another important step to getting rid of Aweber is changing your email address. You’ve been using the same email address for years and it’s been great. Now it’s time for a change. If you’ve been following the steps above, you’ll know that you can’t just change your email address with Aweber; you’ll have to contact them and let them know that you want to change your address. What’s important is that you do this before you start receiving emails from anyone else. You should follow the guides below to ensure that your email address change is as painless as possible:
Create A New Email Account
The first step is to create a new email account with a different address. This is important for a few reasons. First, you’ll need a new email address to start receiving notifications from Aweber that your account has been updated. Second, if you’re worried about your email address being compromised, you should use a private email service instead of your general email (hotmail, Gmail, etc.). Finally, you’ll need a new email address to update your personal information on some of the supported websites, like PayPal, Amazon, and Ebay. After you’ve created a new email account, it’s time to move over your old email address. You’ll need to do this one of two ways. You can either copy and paste it into the box that requests your new email address (on the box that asks for your email address when you sign up for Aweber), or you can save it as a draft and then follow the steps below:
Log Out Of Your Old Email Account
The first step is to log out of your old email account. This will ensure that no one can access your old emails (or any other information for that matter) using your old email address. Once you’ve logged out of your old email account, it’s time to move on to the next step.
Update Your Contact Information
The second step is to update your contact information with Aweber. To do this, you’ll need to log back in to your old email account. Once you’ve logged back in, you’ll see a contact form in the right sidebar. All you have to do is fill out the form and hit submit. Aweber should automatically fill in your new contact information.
What’s important is that you do this step before you move on to the next one.
Update Your Payment Information
The third step is to update your payment information with Aweber. You’ll need to log back in to your old email account. Once you’ve logged back in, you’ll see a tab in the right sidebar called ‘Payment Info.’ Under that tab you should see a button that says ‘Update Subscription.’ Then it’s just a matter of following the steps.
What’s important is that you do this step before you move on to the next one.
After you’ve updated your contact information and payment information on Aweber, it’s time to move on to the last step.
Delete Your Old Email Account
The fourth step is to delete your old email account. You’ll need to log back in to your old email account and then simply click on the ‘Delete’ button next to your email address. Once you’ve clicked the delete button, you’ll need to wait a few minutes for the email address to be deleted from Aweber’s system. Once that’s done, it’s time to move on to the next step.
What’s important is that you do this step before you move on to the next one.
After you’ve completed all four steps above, it’s time to test your new email address by trying to send out an email to someone. If everything is working properly, you’ll receive an email back from the person you sent it to, letting you know that they received it. If you haven’t received anything by next morning, it’s time to go back and repeat the process above.
What’s important is that you do this step before you move on to the next one.
