The purpose of this article is to acquaint you with the process of integrating the popular AWeber and PHPbb affiliate marketing platforms. If you are already using AWeber, you can use this tutorial to integrate PHPbb; if not, it’s a good starting point for exploring how to integrate the two applications.
1. Go To WordPress.com
The first thing you will need to do is go to WordPress.com and create an account if you don’t already have one. Once you have an account, you can use the dashboard to create a new blog entry. This is the first step in setting up a blog for your affiliate marketing efforts.
2. Install AWeber
After you have a blog entry created on WordPress.com, you will need to install AWeber to your account. You can do this by clicking on the link that WordPress provides and following the prompts. Once you have installed AWeber to your account, you will need to log in and go to the dashboard. From here, you can see all of your blogs and new blog entries you have created. If you click on the blog link for your new blog post, you will be taken to the AWeber dashboard for your blog. You can click on the Settings tab from here to see all of the options for your blog.
3. Configure AWeber
Now that you have installed AWeber to your account, you will need to configure it to work with your blog. This involves going through a series of steps to give AWeber the correct info it needs to function with your blog. The first thing you will need to do is click on the Profile link at the top of the Settings page to edit your profile settings. Here you can change your blog’s name, description, and language. You can also change the email address associated with your blog. Make sure you click on the Save Profile button at the bottom of this page when you are done editing.
4. Add Your PayPal Account
Next you will need to add your PayPal account so you can accept payments for your blog. You can do this under the Profile settings for your blog by clicking on the Settings tab and then on the monetization section. On this page you will need to enter your PayPal email address and then click on the Create PayPal account button.
5. Integrate AWeber With Your Blog
When you click on the Settings tab for your blog at this point, you will see a box at the top informing you that AWeber is set up and you can begin using it on your blog. If you are using AWeber’s default language, you will need to go to the post editor to make changes to content. However, you can also make changes to the emails that are sent to your subscribers with the click of a button.
6. Add Your Shopify Account
If you are already using Shopify for your online store, you can add your AWeber account as a payment method here. While you are at it, you can add your Stripe account as a payment method as well. Adding a payment method is very straightforward and you can get set up with all three in no time at all.
If you would like to add more than one payment method to your account, you can do this under the Profile settings for your blog by clicking on the Settings tab and then on the monetization section. Here you can add as many payment methods as you’d like and switch between them at any time.
7. Set Up Your Blog To Monetise
At this point, your blog is set up and you can begin adding content to it. Before you start attracting potential customers with your articles, you have one more step to take before you start making money from your blog. This is to set it up to monetize. The first step is to edit the About page of your blog to include a disclosure about how you intend to make money from your blog. Make sure you put in the disclosure that you have a financial relationship with AWeber, PayPal, and Shopify. This is to comply with the FTC guidelines regarding endorsement and disclosure.
8. Set Up Some Blogging Habits
Now that you have set up your blog with a disclosure, you need to start establishing some good blogging habits. The first thing you should do is create and maintain a good editorial calendar. This will help you plan out content for your blog and keep your audiences interested. You can use a tool like Blogger’s Backpack to easily schedule posts.
9. Create Some Testimonials
Creating high-quality content that you know your audience will value is a great way to establish your credibility as a speaker and an affiliate marketer. One of the simplest yet most effective ways to do this is to create testimonials for your blog. You can do this under the About page for your blog by using a tool like QuickTestimonials.com to quickly and easily create and maintain a library of testimonials. You can browse through this library of testimonials to find ones that suit your blog’s style and then use the tool to quickly create a new post with your chosen testimonials.
10. Get Some Free Blogging Stock
If you are new to blogging, the very first thing you will need to do is get some free blogging stock. This will be the words and images you use to create your blog posts. You can get free blogging stock from a number of places, including GitHub, which is a code repository that you can use to create and maintain your blog. You can find a list of free blogging templates on GitHub’s websites.
11. Build A Relationship With Your Audiences
Once you have some quality content published on your blog, you can use the relationships you have established to grow your affiliate sales. Your audience trusts you now, so you can use this trust to your advantage. Email marketing is one of the most effective and inexpensive ways to do this. You can use tools like AWeber to quickly and easily establish email lists for your blog. If you would like, you can even set up autoresponder campaigns to keep in touch with and remind your audience about your many great offerings.
12. Measure The Results Of Your Blog
At this point, you have a blog set up with a disclosure, editorial content, and testimonials. Now it’s time to measure the results of this effort. The first step is to use a tool like Google Analytics to track the traffic to your blog. You can use this to determine the popularity of different content and the effectiveness of your various marketing strategies.
To help you measure how effective your blog is, Google offers a free Google Analytics account. When you register for this account, you get a custom URL (like mine: http://larrybullardcom.com). Don’t forget this URL when you are sharing your blog posts with potential customers.
