How to Validate Your Email List for Utah Marketing

You may have heard of the success of the Hootsuite email marketing platform, which lets you send out mass emails or individualized messages to your contacts.

Or, you may be working with a lead-generation tool like ConvertKit that can help you automate email outreach and trigger emails based on event triggers (like a sale or a new account being created).

If so, you’re in luck because we’ve got great news! We’ve got an even better tool for you to consider. From the same company that brought you Hootsuite, Hello Validation, you can create a completely free email validation list to help you spread the word about your business and grow your audience.

Let’s get to the good stuff. What is an email validation list and how does it work?

What is an Email Validation List?

Simply put, an email validation list is a list of email addresses that you’ve validated (or will validate) as being legitimate (i.e., actual people who actually received your email).

The benefits of an email validation list are numerous. First, it helps you ensure the integrity of your email marketing. When building an email list, it’s important to have confidence that your email will reach the person who wrote it. Having a small, insignificant number of invalid addresses on your list means you’ll have to send fewer emails and have more confidence that your message will be delivered. Second, having a large number of invalid addresses on your list means you’re more likely to get flagged as a spammer by mail servers worldwide. Finally, you can use an email validation service to get proof that you sent an email to a certain address. This gives you the opportunity to follow-up with the contact, fix any errors, and get confirmation that you did, in fact, send the email. This can be immensely beneficial, especially if you’re trying to build credibility with a new audience.

Let’s get to the good stuff. How do I create an email validation list?

How to Create an Email Validation List for Free

There are two ways to create an email validation list for free. One is through Hootsuite, and the other is through your own Gmail account. We’ll discuss each in turn.

Using Hootsuite to Create an Email Validation List

Hootsuite is undoubtedly the most popular social media platform, with over 200 million monthly active users a pop. Its strength is in its user base, enabling you to connect with people interested in your niche. With over 40 million downloads globally, you’ll have the opportunity to reach a large audience.

To create an email validation list with Hootsuite, navigate to the “Tools” menu at the top of the page. From there, click on “Hootsuite Email Validator” and then “Create New List”.

You’ll see a form where you can enter your email address and the list you want to create. Simply fill out the form and click “Create List.”

A pop-up window will appear with details about your list. Name your list “Email List” (this will be the name of your list when it is imported into Gmail), and then click “Create List.”

Hootsuite will then walk you through the process of importing your email list into the service. Depending on how large your list is, this process could take a while. When it is completed, you will be able to click “View My List,” which will give you access to all of the emails in your list. You can do this by clicking on the “gear” icon in the top right corner of the email list and choosing “view settings” from the drop-down menu.

Creating an Email Validation List Manually in Gmail

The second way to create an email validation list is through Gmail itself. Gmail, the most popular email client globally, gives you the power to keep track of your email communications. It even provides you with a “Sent Mail” folder where you can see all of your emails, regardless of whether they were sent through your Android phone, Apple iPhone, or any other device.

To create an email validation list in Gmail, navigate to the “Accounts” menu on the left side of the page. From there, click on “Settings” and then “Addresses.”

You’ll see a list of the email addresses currently attached to your Gmail account. Simply choose the ones you want to add to your list and then click “Add all addresses.”

You will now be able to select which email addresses you want to add to your list. Simply click on the “gear” icon in the top right corner of the page and choose “more options” from the drop-down menu. From here you can remove addresses from the list or edit the emails’ visibility settings. When you’re finished, click “Save Changes” and you’ll be back at the list of addresses. To see the full power of this tool, click on the “Gear” icon in the top right corner of the screen and choose “importer” from the drop-down menu. This will reveal the “Import Contacts” option, which will allow you to import your Hootsuite list into Gmail. When that is completed, you can follow the steps above to save your list.

Why Should I Use an Email Validation List?

There are several great reasons why you should use an email validation list vs. a simple “open” or “click here” link in an email. First, it helps you ensure the integrity of your email marketing. When you send an email, you’re essentially doing so on a “need to know” basis. That is, you’re assuming the person on the other end will need to know what you sent them. Having a small, insignificant number of invalid addresses on your list means you’ll have to send fewer emails and have more confidence that your message will be delivered.

Second, spam filtering becomes more effective when you have a larger number of addresses on your list. This is because a larger number of addresses means you’re more likely to get flagged as a spammer by mail servers worldwide.
